✶ When Soothing Isn’t Actually Soothing ✶

“Awareness is the first step in healing.”
- Dean Ornish

Hi friends,

Lately I’ve been thinking about how easy it is to numb.

Not in dramatic ways.

But quietly.

A scroll that lasts longer than we meant it to.
A small online purchase at the end of a long day.
Saying yes when we’re already stretched thin.

It has never been easier to soothe ourselves without actually soothing ourselves.

I wrote a new piece on Substack this week called Clutter in a Culture of Numbing.

In it, I shared something tender: that I was a chronic shopaholic from a young age. Not because I was reckless. But because I was highly sensitive without language or tools.

Shopping became regulation.

And it took becoming a mother - and discovering a gentler philosophy around belongings - for that grip to loosen.

If you’ve ever felt like clutter is about more than “just tidying,” this piece may resonate.

✶ What’s Happening This Month ✶

March is gently full - with offerings ranging from free virtual sessions to in-person workshops here in Edinburgh. Whether you’re looking for a small reset or deeper guided support, there are multiple entry points this season.

Here are a few highlights:

Decluttering Without Overwhelm

A 3-week cohort for sensitive families (co-facilitated with Amy from Highly Sensitive Parenthood)

Clutter to Clarity – Salisbury Centre (Edinburgh)
An in-person workshop for those wanting practical, grounded momentum locally. Spots are limited.

✶ Ongoing Ways to Work With Me ✶

Circle of Joy Membership
1:1 Virtual Power Flow Sessions

Everything I offer circles back to one thing:

Helping you create a home - and inner life - that supports your sensitivity instead of overwhelming it.

Thank you for being here, and may the day ahead bring gentle clarity to your world ❤︎

With joy & warmth,
Rebecca

For sensitive souls ready to declutter with gratitude and create space for what truly matters. This is a calm, supportive space to let go - not only of physical belongings, but of the emotional and energetic weight we quietly carry - and to begin again with clarity and compassion.
