✴︎ When joy becomes overjoy... ✴︎

"The best trip is the journey inward."

— Pico Iyer

Hello lovely,

As the clock turns midnight and July arrives quietly, I'm reflecting on a June that somehow felt like several months packed into one.

We wrapped up another beautiful cohort of Joyful Legacy Decluttering, celebrating every small step, courageous conversation, and practical action.

I'll share the next waitlist and some testimonials in another email, but my heart was expanding throughout the whole experience... it was such a nourishing reminder of what can happen when we create space for what truly matters... 💛

At the same time, our eldest graduated from primary school (how did that happen so quickly? 🥹), and almost immediately afterwards I bundled up the girls and boarded a plane to Shanghai, where we're spending a few weeks reconnecting with family, language, food, and the beautiful chaos of cultural immersion.

Travel has always been one of our family's greatest sources of joy.

People often ask how we've managed to live in different countries, take a family gap year, and build a life around experiences rather than things. Honestly, so much of it comes back to the KonMari Method.

Learning to become intentional about what we keep created room for opportunities we never imagined.

If you're curious about that chapter of our lives, you can read about our family gap year here (written a few years ago)!

Lately, I've been reflecting on something a little unexpected...

Can we have too much joy?

Not in the sense that joy itself is a problem - but when life becomes so wonderfully full that we don't have time to process, integrate, or simply breathe.

I've started calling it overjoy.

Sometimes even beautiful things need space around them.

That's one of the reasons I've intentionally made July a quieter month. Circle of Joy will be taking a gentle pause while I spend time with family, celebrate my birthday, and allow myself to savour this season rather than rushing into the next.

I hope it gives you permission to do the same.

For sensitive souls ready to declutter with gratitude and create space for what truly matters. This is a calm, supportive space to let go - not only of physical belongings, but of the emotional and energetic weight we quietly carry - and to begin again with clarity and compassion.
