Joy and Grief Can Coexist 💫

Hi friends,
November has been a month of contrasts - full of joy, connection, and quiet reflection.
I was reflecting on the joy of spending time with Marie Kondo and the KonMari community in London 💫 It felt deeply meaningful to reconnect in person, share stories, and celebrate how this work continues to evolve across the world.
London moments that sparked joy
But while the London trip was a highlight, it was also layered with emotion. Behind the scenes, our family has been navigating grief and transition. I wrote more about this tender season in my post We Don’t Tidy Grief Away - a reflection on how the KonMari philosophy supports us through life’s most difficult chapters.
This month also brought a professional milestone: I was invited to speak at an ESPC event on Rightsizing — a term I prefer to “downsizing,” because it honours the idea of shaping our lives and homes around what truly supports us moving forward.
If you're interested in the Rightsizing worksheet I provided - just reply this email.
Another bright spot was wrapping up my three-week Clutter to Clarity course at The Salisbury Centre - a small, intimate container where we explored how everyday tidying can become an anchor in times of transition. I received the most beautiful feedback, and it meant the world to me.
A few Homes & Gardens articles from November were published too - all about creating more ease and joy at home:
December invites us to slow down and soften. After many months of decluttering and creating space, this is our moment to pause, reflect, and honour what’s shifted - both seen and unseen.
This month we’ll explore: ✶ Gratitude as grounding ✶ Rest as renewal ✶ Reflection & release
A spacious exhale before the new year — I’d love to have you with us - come join us.
With gratitude,
Rebecca
PS. You'll now hear from me just once a month in this space — with a gentle round-up like this at the end of the month. For reflections, events, and our monthly themes, you can find me over on Substack.
Welcome to a space where your sensitivity is honored, not hidden.
