Hi lovely,
August held a lot. My eldest started high school, and watching her walk through those gates, proud and a little unready to let go, set the tone for the whole month... joy and grief and new beginnings, often all at once.
I wrote a few pieces over on Substack this month, and they belong together more than I realized.
The first is about Dolly, and what she reminds me about being fully, unapologetically yourself... rhinestones and all. That you can come from anywhere, carry your softness openly, and still take up every inch of the space you're meant to. You are more than enough, and never too much.
The second was harder to write. I've made a change over on Substack, and I wanted to be open about why. It isn't that the paid side felt like a weight... it's that I could feel some new projects beginning to stir, and I needed the headspace to let them take shape. So I'm choosing to clear a little room, keep this a soft, open place, and give what's coming next the space it deserves.
There's a third piece too, a tender one. I wrote about when life changes, and the quiet, disorienting loss that can follow divorce or heartbreak. The grief we don't always have words for, the letting go no one quite prepares us for, and the slow courage it takes to begin again.
The thread running through all three? Life keeps asking us to let go and begin again. And somehow, that's where both the grief and the joy quietly live.
A little mid-year moment I'm still smiling about:
I'm gearing up for London, and I couldn't be more excited. I'll be part of the Home Life & You KonMari consultant experience, leading two workshops alongside Helen Youn. If you've ever wondered what this work looks like up close, in a room full of people who care about it as deeply as I do, this is it.
If you've been feeling the pull toward this work yourself:
The London in-person KonMari Consultant course is coming up on Oct 16-18, and it's the only in-person cohort of the year. If you'd like to join, use my code REBECCA for $250 off.
Can't make it in-person? Come and join the final virtual course from the comfort of your home. Registration open on Sept 9, early bird discount of $250 is stackable with my code - a $500 discount!
If August has taught me anything, it's that the bravest, kindest thing we can do is release what we've outgrown, and walk toward what's calling us. Gently, and on our own terms.
Thank you, as always, for being part of this community.
With joy,
Rebecca
P.S. If you'd like to come join me over on Substack, subscribing as a free reader and you'll receive my Gentle Conversations workbook to welcome you in. It's a soft place to begin the conversations that matter most.
